Some of the best wedding days come with a plot twist — and this one was no exception. When the forecast called for rain, the plan shifted from an outdoor ceremony to a beautifully tented setup at Mill Falls at the Lake in Meredith, New Hampshire. And honestly? It didn’t slow the day down one bit.

The Venue

Mill Falls at the Lake sits right on Lake Winnipesaukee, and even with gray skies, the setting was gorgeous. The resort’s mix of historic charm and lakeside views gave us so much to work with, rain or shine. Tucked under the tent, the space still felt open and warm, with the lake as a moody, beautiful backdrop.

The Couple

We carved out time for portraits despite the weather, and I love how these turned out. There’s something about soft, overcast light that’s incredibly flattering and romantic — no harsh shadows, just gentle, even tones that let the couple’s connection take center stage.

Cocktail Hour

Once the rain settled in, the energy under the tent only picked up. Cocktail hour was full of laughter, hugs, and catching up with family and friends who clearly adored this couple. You could feel how much fun this crew was going to be for the rest of the night.

The Reception

And the reception did not disappoint. Between the toasts, the dancing, and the sheer joy radiating from the whole room, it was an absolute blast. Weather aside, this is exactly the kind of celebration that reminds me why I love what I do — a couple surrounded by people who love them, having the time of their lives.
